INVENTION

Karl Benz is generally accepted to be the inventor of the modern automobile. He created a four-stroke cycle gasoline engine to power the vehicle. His first Motorwagen was a three-wheeler built in eighteen eighty-five. Five years later he introduced his first four-wheeler.

MODEL T

The Ford Model T, wich some called the Tin Lizzie, started production in nineteen hundred and eight. That was the year that the automobile became popular. The Model T was the first affordable car due to Ford's innovations in assembly line production instead of hand crafting each car.

FIRST POWERED VEHICLE

Ferdinand Verbiest designed the first powered vehicle. It was a steam-powered scale-model toy vehicle designed for the Chinese Emperor. But, it's unknown if it was actually built. The first steam powered road vehicle was built in eighteen hundred and one by Richard Trevithick.
