Jack climbed up the beanstalk to the giant ogre’s house three times. The first time he stole a bag of gold. The second time he stole a hen that lays golden eggs. The final time he stole a singing harp from the ogre.
In the fairy tale Jack’s mother is a poor widow. Neither she nor Jack could get a paying job. The only thing of value she owns is a dairy cow named Milky-white. When she doesn’t give milk one day Jack’s mother sends him off to sell the cow.
The giant ogre is so big that he can string up three calves by the heels from his belt. His wife broils up a couple of the calves for his breakfast. However, the giant ogre’s favorite breakfast is eating boys with bread.
