RAPUNZEL CRYPTOGRAM SOLUTIONS
THE NAME
Rapunzel was named after a plant grown in the witch’s garden. Rapunzel’s mother longed to eat the plant so her husband stole it for her. When the witch found out about the theft she made the man promise to give her his first born child.
STORY'S ORIGIN
The fairy tale was probably based on St. Barbara who was locked in a tower at a young age. She is best known as the patron saint of those who use explosive because of her legends to do with lightning.
THE PRINCE
In the fairy tale the prince was thrown out the tower window by the witch. He landed on some thorny bushes and was blinded. When he eventually found Rapunzel she cried for him. Her tears fell into his eyes and restored his sight. Then they lived happily ever after.
