ORIGIN

The characters of Peter and Brian are based on Larry and Steve, two characters from an animation called "The Life of Larry" that Seth McFarlane had created while studying animation at the Rhode Island School of Design in nineteen ninety-five.

ROCKY BEGINNING

Family Guy debuted in 1999 with modest success, initially. It suffered from criticism about its adult content and the Fox network moving it from time slot to time slot with little notice. It was officially canceled after the third season. Luckily, the show was brought back due to strong DVD sales.

POOR MEG

Seth MacFarlane says that the constant abuse of Meg by her family is the result of a bunch of male writers who don't know how to write for a teenaged girl. Her character is written to be homely and unpopular.
